Keeping My Damn Voice

There are moments... and I find myself tempted to temper my voice to meet some perceived Important Mission.

Here's the thing, though. I tempered my voice for years in order to get a clearance at some point, and then to keep it once I had it. My thinking was that the greater homeland security and US government mission was worth it.

I remain damn serious about my commitment to these United States, and to their security and resilience.

I also remain damn serious about using my voice. My integrity is what I have.

In the movie Serenity, the Preacher says, "I don't care what you believe... just believe it!"

So let's do that.

I'm keeping my damn voice. These United States deserve my best effort, and I'm going to keep speaking up for what I believe.
