The Dimished Fight Against Domestic Terrorists

As a reminder, one of the first things the Trump Administration did in the early months was to attempt to or to successfully shut down the office for countering violent extremism (CVE) in the US Department of Homeland Security.

I've not seen a lot of reporting on this, but my guess is that they tried to do this across government.

It's a pretty big deal if this work been unfunded + unstaffed. Tracking violent domestic terrorists - primarily white supremacists - is work that goes back decades.

Have these efforts / records been completely erased? Have these investigations been shut down? Who is connecting the dots?

In the sea of all of the damage from this Administration, it can seem a small issue.

Today shows that it isn't.
